About the ceremony
The wedding will take place in the St. Birgitta’s Chapel located in the Majorna part of Gothenburg. The chapel is beautifully placed along the water, but is also close to where Jonas and Tim first met in the summer of 2023.
The chapel was built using another chapel with the same name as a model. That chapel is in the Scottish village of Balquhidder. The architect A W Edelsvärd was commissioned to design St. Birgitta's Chapel based on the drawings that Carnegie had brought over from the church building in Scotland. The style is English Gothic with a bell rider on the west gable. The choir forms a separate extension. The interior of the chapel has an open truss structure.
St. Birgitta's Chapel is named after an Irish-Scottish saint who lived in the years 452-525 and who was worshipped under the name St. Bridget. The chapel was consecrated on Whit Monday (June 1) 1857 by the dean Peter Wieselgren.
